Pakistan is the one of largest producers of sesame seeds in the world, producing over 200,000 tonnes per year. The majority of this production is in Punjab and Sindh provinces, the main harvesting time in Pakistan is from December to March, with most harvests occurring during January and February. These seeds are then processed for export. China is the Main Importer of Pakistan’s Natural White Sesame Seeds. Exports of Hulled sesame seeds have increased by 18% since 2010 and are expected to grow further as demand grows due to increasing health awareness around dietary fat intake in Western countries.
